Residency History for ema?

Right, I'm filling out ema for this year, but what the hell is residency history? its on page 7. the wee help book doesn't give any answers on that section just the one before and after. if its my home address then why the hell do they ask me why was i there...i lived there of course! Please help i have absolutely no bloody clue whats going on!!!!
